The Green Building Products Announces Impact Testing on PlasterMax and StuccoMax

Samples of PlasterMax and StuccoMax, all samples were hardened for 7 days. The 4.3 and 11 oz mesh samples were as close to 1/8" thickness.  The 15 oz mesh and 20 oz mesh range from 3/16" to 1/4".  Results
were as expected, the winner in the impact test was 11 oz! No need to purchase a heavier mesh.  The testing clearly shows that the machine ran out of weights to put any force against the samples! PlasterMax~ Newest Green Building Product

PlasterMax is a new, eco-friendly cementitious building material that uses no Portland cement; rather, it consists of a proprietary nontoxic binder, and a filler utilizing waste ash from coal fired power generation stations, of all grades, not just the fly ash currently used as a ten percent filler in concrete. Other fillers include waste paper, cardboard and plastics, styrofoam packaging, sludge from paper mills, and agricultural waste fibers (leftover from food crops like rice, corn, wheat and other grains). Since most of these materials would just end up in a landfill (sacrilege!), they instead make a great alternative building material. All of the above materials become totally fireproof and can be made very lightweight, yet are as strong as traditional concrete, sometimes even more so. Green Building Material PlasterMax-ICF

GigaCrete has reinvented PlasterMax-ICF. Previously PlasterMax-
ICF Base Coat at 3/8” thick was needed to meet the fire
code over ICF construction to replace ½” gypsum board with a 15
minute barrier. On April 26, 2010, GigaCrete installed 1/8” new
PlasterMax over ICF walls and passed NFPA 286 again at 1/3 the
previous thickness. This material when tested by ASTM compression
tests is 8,000 psi, double the previous PlasterMax-ICF Base
Coat approximately 4,000 psi. This new version dubbed “thin coat”
will also replace PlasterMax-IND over drywall thereby simplifying
the family of PlasterMax down to one product. This new version
can be used over ICF, SIP’s panels, CMU and concrete, gypsum
board and other potential substrates. PlasterMax is non-combustible
and with EIFS type mesh costs a little over $1.00 per sq. ft.
